Originally from Chishawasha area. Legend has it that he fled from a Zulu attack alone and trekked south to the Chirimuhanzu area. He worked for Chief Chirimuhazu for many years as a hunter, he was a great hunter. He was then given the chief’s daughter (Maruvangira) as his wife. (kutema ugariri).
With his wife they are the root of the whole family as we know it today. He claimed his totem to be Shoko with chidawo of Sinomwana (or Risinomwana) It’s believed this was to disguise himself as there had never been such a Chidawo before among the people of the Shoko totem.
